To anyone who still reads this page, or still happens to have it in their RSS reader. Or those folks who follow me on Twitter. I am still in the process of writing “The Heimdall Chronicles” in it’s novel form. Yes the project is still alive in its fourth or fifth itteration. I forget what number I’m up to now.

For those of you that remember that this was going to start as a podio drama, you’ll be happy to know that I fully plan to release this in podiobook format once I get closer to the finished stage and I’ve gone through rewrites.

I know I’ve let this thing stagnate after saying I was close to release several times in the past. And, I probably won’t have many people holding their breaths when I say that I’m working on releasing this thing in a timely manner. I wouldn’t hold my breath either, I have asthma. But rest assured I’ll be hard at work on this now. I have the writing bug, and I need to get this story out, even if it kills me, and it probably will.

Just a little bit of cross promotion.

Well here is the skinny of it. Nothing new is going on. Scripts are written, the artist has the pages, and he is working on them. Though when I say working, I really mean he’s not done a gorram thing. Of course I’m not mad or anything. This has always been a work of love and free time. And I have more free time than most, especially Vance. I still want to give him the first chance to draw this project as I believe he’s go the perfect style for this,  and I don’t know any other artists.

It was asked if the podcast/audio version of Heimdall was canceled.  Indeed it is still canceled, and has been for a while. Trying to organize a group of actors and the time to edit together a show was too much for me. So The Heimdall Chronicles was changed to a comic book. The plan is to release a page or two a week until there is enough to fill one floppy book, and then eventually a trade or hardback book. This formula worked incredibly well for another webcomic called “Looking For Group.”

So as it stands, yes Heimdall is still very much alive. Though you could call it dormant or hibernating mostly. And it’s my fault for not letting you guys know more about this. I’m going to get the whip out and beat Vance and make him draw like a mad man, I promise.

Could you eventually see a hard copy of the much anticipated “Heimdall Chronicles?”

Yes. Yes you could. IF I’m not jumping the gun here, the artist, Vance, says he’s ready to jump full bore into this project and ready to start hammering out something that looks like a comic book.

I’ve found an online publisher/printer that is very reasonably priced, Ka-Blam. After the recent lawyer doings, I’m very worrisome about selling/receiving money for this thing, especially since it is in the Firefly ‘verse, and thereby owned by Fox and their greedy lawyers.

I have toyed with rewriting the story and taking out all references to Firefly, but the story works so well that I feel something would be lost in the rewrite. So lawyers be damned, I’m keeping this as is. And of course I will be giving this away in a free digital format, but how cool would it be to own a comic book written by yourself.

So start counting the days folks, Heimdall is coming.

Is anyone still out there?

Just realized that I’ve not updated anyone on the ongoing of “The Heimdall Chronicles.” The comic is still going forward, kind of slow, as Vance is a busy artist. But, he has promised to start working on some layouts and the comic proper soon.

I’ve also decided to downplay the Firefly/Serenity tie-in. We won’t be blatantly calling out every thing that Joss has done. It will have the occasional BlueSun logo, and refer to the Alliance, and of course the terms “gorram” and “ruttin” though not in every other sentance (it’ll make sense when you read it why the terms aren’t used that much).

So be prepared to see some stuff coming this way in the near future, and hopefully a finished product not soon after.
